Mission - in Portishead

View of Portishead

We view working in the community of Portishead a fundamental part of our mission.

Neighbourhood Prayer Network

During 2013 GVC are working with the Neighbourhood Prayer Network UK initiative.  This exciting initiative gives us the opportunity to pray for our local communities. GVC, and other churches in Portishead, are aiming to pray for the streets that we live on so that all of Portishead is covered in prayer.

A special prayer guide has been produced for Lent which, as a church, we will be using throughout the 40 days of Lent which can be downloaded below.

A regular e-news letter will be produced and can also be downloaded below.  If you would like further information please go to the neighbourhoodprayer.net website.

Please join us in praying for your neighbours.

Working with other Churches

Poritshead Church Leaders

Gordano Valley Church is committed to working closely with other churches in the Portishead.  We may meet in different locations and express our faith in different ways but we have a common purpose, to demonstrate the love of Jesus to those in Portishead.  The leadership of the different churches meet regularly for prayer and to discuss ways in which we can serve our community.

We have an annual United Service at the beginning of each year, we run Alpha courses together, have taken part in Good Friday processions of Witness and Easter sunrise services at Battery Point.  We are constantly looking for ways we can work together. John 17v20

Christian Union at Gordano School

Prayer on the Streets

Prayer on the streets is a simple way to reach out to those lost and hurting on the streets of Portishead. It enables us to connect with our community every week, powerfully expressing God’s love in the town, whatever the weather.

Every Friday from 12 - 2pm, No.4 is the Portishead distribution point for Clevedon Foodbank. Please click here for further information.
