Kira Project

The Kira Project, providing hygiene and sanitation education in Burundi

This project will be concentrated in Rwisabi in Mutaho District, Gitega Province, Central Burundi. Working with households, schools and health centres to educate and empower the community to enable them to change behaviour and use best practice in their sanitation and hygiene. As a result, families will benefit from less disease, better health and a more promising future.

The intention of the project is to fund the training and education of a whole community in Mutaho, Burundi. This will result in a change in the sanitation arrangements and health of all of the people of that community. This will be achieved by helping the community to access information about sanitation, health and hygiene that leads to a change in mind-sets, attitudes and habits.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the project so far, we are really grateful. The events that have already been held have managed to raise £45,000. This gives us the momentum that is needed to raise the £30,000 remaining over the next three years.
