Foodbank

What is the Foodbank?

The 1st Portishead Scout Group building (on the corner of Station Road and South Avenue) operates as the distribution point for Clevedon District Foodbank. Food is donated to Foodbanks by schools, businesses, other organisations and individuals, and is for those in need.

Fresh Food for those who need it

GVC work closely with Foodbank and volunteers offer fresh food to those who need it, outside 4 Combe Road, on Fridays 12.00 - 14.00 (kindly donated by Brakes).
Foodbank Donations can also be left in No.4 porch when open.

​Foodbank Donations:

Suggested items:

Every Sunday GVC will have a collection point for donations. Food donated needs to have a shelf life of at least 6 months. A list of appropriate items is at the collection point at church and below:

​All food should be tinned or dry goods as listed below. Where possible toilet rolls, feminine hygiene, washing powder, shower gel/soap/shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes are also given. Items of food should be at least 6 months in date.
Foodbank donations can also be brought to the GVC Office, 4 Combe Road, Portishead, BS20 6BJ Tel: 01275 847032.  The office is usually open Monday-Friday, during office hours but please telephone before you come to ensure there is someone at the office to receive your donations.  Many thanks.
