Challengers Fridays 2024-25

Challengers Youth Club has been running for over 28 years and we have loved welcoming and getting to know so many amazing young people over the years, seeing them thrive as they try new activities, learn new skills and make great friendships.  Challengers is run by our youth worker Sarah & her wonderful volunteer team.  It's for young people in school Years 6-10, for all faiths & none.  

We have a mixture of in-house activities; challenges, sports, games, plus Wii, tuckshop and lots of space to chill with your mates, all based at St Joseph's School, 7-9pm.  We also love a good trip!  This term we are going to Bristol Harbour, Ice-skating and The Mix youth church in Bristol.

Challengers is FREE to join and we aim to keep all activities as affordable as possible.  You need to be a member to come (you can sign up below).  All trips also need to be booked IN ADVANCE.  We don't want money to stop anyone from attending trips, if finances are tight, please ask for a subsidised place.  

The best way to find out what is going on is to join our Whatsapp parents group and like our Challengers FB page.  You can ask to join the Whatsapp group when you fill in a membership form.

Membership is FREE for young people in Years 6-10.  Numbers are limited to build community, allowing us to get to know each other. 
We reserve the right to revoke a young persons membership if their behaviour is disruptive or unkind to others or leaders.

Summer fun!

Come and connect with your mates in the school holidays, and make some new friends too, with fun, free activities!

Olympic Fun Night - Weds 31 July, St Joseph's School, 6:30-9pm
Prepare to get messy, with bright coloured paints, Olympic-themed games challenges, and maybe a cheeky water fight thrown in for good measure to finish!  And a tasty BBQ to start!

Pool Party - Tue 8 Aug, Portishead Lido, 7-8pm
Come and enjoy the gorgeous outdoor pool, soak up some rays, have fun.  This is organised jointly with Cludo Club.

Years 12+13 would be very welcome to join a help as volunteers for these events, please ping me a message, [email protected]

16+ activities

Too old to come to Challengers on Friday night, but still want to gather and have fun with your mates?  We're exploring holding activities for young people aged 16+ (school years 11, 12, 13) a few times a year.   If people love it, and we can find team, it will hopefully become a more regular event!

Starting with a 90's ROLLER DISCO - Sat 16th March.
