Safeguarding

Keeping everyone safe

Picture
GVC is committed to keeping children, young people and adults with additional care and support needs safe. If you have any concerns about a safeguarding issue please report it as soon as possible to Sue Hoyles who is our Safeguarding Lead at [email protected].

The Core Leaders and the Trustees recognise the importance of providing a safe and caring environment for children, young people and adults with additional care and support needs. We recognise that this work is the responsibility of the whole church and we encourage all of our members, volunteers and staff to be vigilant at all times. It is the responsibility of each of us to protect and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and adults entrusted to the church's care and to respond to all safeguarding concerns in a robust and timely manner.

We aim to build an open culture where:
  • Those who lead do so by example.
  • We are committed to the safeguarding of all.
  • Those who work or volunteer are safely recruited and trained for their roles.
  • Accountability structures are in place.
  • Workers adhere to a Code of Conduct.
  • The values of the Church are embedded in its day-to-day actions and in the behaviours of its people.
  • There is open communication.

Parental permission

We need permission for all under 18's to join in with church activities, including Sunday morning groups.  We ask all parents to fill in a form annually.  This is also a chance to update any medical or dietary info about your child.
